Divorcée and single mom Solène Marchand is the owner of a prestigious art gallery.
When her ex-husband bails on his plans with their daughter Isabelle, Solène steps in and takes her to a concert to meet her favorite boy band, August Moon. She never expects to forge an instant connection with the lead singer: twenty-year-old British pop star Hayes Campbell.
Enamored and unable to resist their mutual attraction, Solène and Hayes enter a secret whirlwind fling that threatens to disrupt their lives if the press ever catches wind.
How will the film differ from the book?
The film adaptation veers away from the original storyline. Our 39-year-old divorcée Soléne is now 40-year-old single mom Sophie and international boy band sensation Hayes is now twenty-four, four years older than his age in the book.
Additionally, the two star-crossed lovers meet at an August Moon concert in the novel. Now, they will cross paths at the hottest festival of the year, Coachella.
Who is in the cast of The Idea of You film adaptation?
Award-winning actress Anne Hathaway and star of Purple Hearts, and the upcoming film adaptation of Red, White, & Royal Blue, Nicholas Galitzine are to star in the highly-anticipated film adaptation of The Idea of You. Hathaway will take on the lead role of Sophie and Galitzine will bring British pop sensation Hayes Campbell to life.
The Devil Wears Prada, Princess Diaries, and Les Misérables star also functions as a producer on the film along with bestselling author Robinne Lee, actress Gabrielle Union, and academy-winning producer Cathy Schulman.
Starring alongside Hathaway and Galitzine includes Dakota Adan, Jaiden Anthony, Raymond Cham, Jordan Aaron Hall, Perry Mattfeld, Annie Mumolo, Ella Rubin, Reid Scott, and Viktor White.
The faces of Austin Moon will consist of Jaiden Anthony, Raymond Cham, Viktor White, and Dakota Adan.
Michael Showalter, director of The Big Sick and writer of Wet Hot American Summer, is to direct the film.
When is the release date of The Idea of You?
According to Deadline, production began in October, and on December 20th, Galitzine posted to Instagram that they wrapped filming, so it will likely hit Prime Video in 2023.
