It’s a normal day for Adam Steinbeck until he finds a note from his wife Diana. That’s when things go to hell and the story gets juicy. The marriage games are about to to begin in The Games Duet.

Let’s get some stuff out of the way before I jump in. Adam and Diana are co-owners of a publishing house. They had a miscarriage and Adam was never really his true self around Diana which is what lead to the dissatisfaction.

Only after the divorce is in motion does Diana begin learning about her husband’s life before her. A life where he thrived as a dominant. A life that he ended for her.

My Review

Now that’s all the background I’m giving because you need to read this series!!! It’s not like anything I’ve read before. I love a book that begins with a divorce. I’m not sure what that says about me, but who cares, let’s get roped into Adam and Diana’s journey. You won’t regret it.

Also, as of right now, everything I read by C.D. Reiss is captivating. Her prose is amazing and I never find myself rolling my eyes at any lines or cringing from unnecessary cheesiness. An A in my book.

Honestly, if you like your books gritty and real, then this is a perfect match. It’s not instantaneous nor is it unrealistic. Marriage Games is a slow burn romance that is the exact opposite of vanilla. It’s an exploration of bondage, pain, love, redemption and honesty.

The comfort zone may or may not be obliterated during certain scenes, but they all have an important place with Adam and Diana. It’s not meant to be easy or fun, but it sure grips your attention until the wee hours of the night. Seriously, I was up until 4am reading this series. Not one of my best ideas, but I have no self control when it comes to certain stories. It’s a compliment really.
